What is Bipolar Disease?

bipolar disease What is Bipolar Disease?Bipolar disease is a disease that affects the mental state and mood of a patient. It can be accompanied by periods of depression, followed by periods of extreme happiness and euphoria. Bipolar disorder occurs within the brain and can have vast effects on not only the mood, but the physical state that a person is in. There have been diagnoses that can affect the energy levels and even the physical state of the body to where the person may feel run-down and experience other physical symptoms. There are many treatments available, though the most effective include a daily dose of medication to regulate the mood and stabilize the symptoms which are experienced.

Symptoms can include mood changes in which the individual can go from happy to sad, or even to angry with the flip of a switch. With these symptoms come the feelings of dread, overwhelming and even depression that have been known to accompany the disease.

Being diagnosed with bipolar disease is not the end of the world. There are many treatment options which can allow the patient to find peace within themselves and become regulated enough to begin feeling like themselves again. Many times, when patients have been diagnosed with the disorder there is a sense of losing themselves within the label and name of the disease. After the diagnosis, many patients realize that this is the reason that they have been feeling overwhelmed, depressed and even manic.
