Tips to Help Control Panic Attacks

controlling panic attacks Tips to Help Control Panic AttacksPanic attacks can be dehabilitating. If you have ever suffered from a panic attack than you are aware of the feelings that come with the initial onset and than continue until the panic has finally subsided, which can be as little as a few minutes or even as long as few hours. Although, even a panic attack that lasts for mere minutes can seem like hours when symptoms are severe.

There are many things that the patient can do to reduce the symptoms which are associated with panic attacks, during the initial onset and through the attack to reduce the severity which is associated with it.

Through the onset of the panic attack and while the symptoms are being experienced many patients have found it helpful to have a mantra that can be repeated. The repetition gives the person suffering from the panic attack something to focus on while allowing the patient to slow the breaths, breathe and ensure that the pace is being adhered to. The mantra should be something positive, easy to remember and be used each time that a panic attack is experienced.
Breathing is essential through the onset and duration of a panic attack. Although it may feel difficult to breathe as many patients experience shortness of breath or a tightening in the chest it can be helpful to ensure that you are breathing through the panic attack.

Thank you for a wonderful post. I too used to suffer from panic attacks and anxiety disorder. I used to be a healthy woman, so I never thought it could happen to me, but one awful evening, it did, and if it happened to me, it can happen to anyone, at any given moment. To handle and overcome panic attacks and anxiety disorder, I used the revolutionary “panic away” system, and it really helped me a lot, and made my life better. And today I no longer suffer from panic attacks, and I have gained back the control over my life.
