Although, even a panic attack that lasts for mere minutes can seem like hours when symptoms are severe.</p><p>There are many things that the patient can do to reduce the symptoms which are associated with panic attacks, during the initial onset and through the attack to reduce the severity which is associated with it.</p><p>Through the onset of the panic attack and while the symptoms are being experienced many patients have found it helpful to have a mantra that can be repeated. The repetition gives the person suffering from the panic attack something to focus on while allowing the patient to slow the breaths, breathe and ensure that the pace is being adhered to. The mantra should be something positive, easy to remember and be used each time that a panic attack is experienced.<br
