Bipolar disorder, which is earlier known as manic depression, refers to a psychological mood disorder of extremes. This mental condition can be severe and often affects a person’s ability to perform. The constant manic highs and depressive lows can lead to both physical as well as mental disturbance.People suffering from bipolar disease generally feel nothing of the typical range of moods and their extremes of emotion usually extend beyond their control and if left untreated, these constant mood swings can lead to catastrophe and worsen over a period of time. Sufferers of bipolar depression leave relationships in shambles, create difficulty in employment prospects and loss of financial control. People having worst case of bipolar affective disorder may think of committing suicide as well.
